Zucchero Fornaciari nació en Roncocesi (Italia), el 25 de septiembre de 1955 pero se trasladó a Forte dei Marmi Forte en Toscana, donde formó sus primeros grupos de rhythm y blues usando el nombre de Zucchero que le había puesto uno de sus maestros. Hijo de campesinos, todavía hoy está muy ligado a su tierra aunque vive en Toscana. Precisamente, es en Reggio Emilia donde empieza a tocar la guitarra.
Este disco fue producido por Rustici e incluye en los instrumentos a Clarence Clemos, The Memphis Horns y David Sancious. “Con Le Mani” escrita por Gino Paoli, la controversial “Solo una sana…” y la versión original de “Senza una Donna” hicieron que el disco se vendiera como pan caliente.
